When to go, what to say and how to make the dentist something kids look forward to.
We recommend a first visit by your child's first birthday. It's short, playful and mostly about helping them feel at home.
Use positive words
Skip words like 'hurt' or 'needle'. Try 'the dentist will count your teeth and make them sparkle'.
Practise at home
Play dentist with a mirror and a toothbrush. Kids who know what to expect are far more relaxed.
Celebrate
Every visit earns points on our Smile Streak rewards — and a new toothbrush to take home.
